AWESOME COMPILATION!!

Slash is one of my personal favourite power guitarists.
Slash's early guitar influences were Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page
& Rory Gallagher. Band influence was Aerosmith. He was born Saul
Hudson, 1965 in Hamstead, London, bought up in Stoke on Trent, UK. His
Dad Anthony Hudson is a designer (album covers) for Geffen Records and
his Mum, Ola Hudson, is a very successful clothing designer. They moved
back to USA when Slash was 11 years old. He is a self taught guitarist,
his gran gave him his first guitar at 15 yrs. He devoted 12 hours a
day to playing his guitar!! Listening and copying all his favourites
... (school went out of the window!) After Guns 'n' Roses split he formed
his own band 'Snakepit' and plays lead guitar with Velvet Revolver.
He married Perla Ferrar on October 15, 2001, they have two little children,
London Emilio Hudson (born August 28th, 2002) and Cash Anthony Hudson
(born June 23rd, 2004).
A little story from the 80's:-
Mark
Stein says - "After Vanilla Fudge I decided to put my own band
together. The 80s was the hard rock and heavy metal decade. There was
Bobby Arechiga, one hell of a
drummer and myself. We had a couple of guitar players. Lanny Cordola
played with us for a while. Guns & Roses opened for Danger Zone
at the Roxy in L.A. one night!"
Speaking not long ago to my friend Bobby
Arechiga about this, he laughingly said to me " Ya it was awesome,
an awesome night, only trouble was Guns'n'Roses got signed,
we, Danger
Zone didn't!"

Wow
what a collection & they aren't even all there !!
SLASH started out with a one string acoustic.
His first electric was a copy of a Gibson Explorer. Later guitars included
a Memphis Les Paul copy, a B.C. Rich Mockingbird, a B.C. Rich Warlock,
a Fender Stratocaster, a Jackson Firebird copy and a Charvel. We ALL
know SLASH favors the Gibson Les Paul guitar, so you might be surprised
to see the assortment in his collection of 100+ guitars. As for
strings, SLASH uses Ernie Ball Slinky R.P.S. strings of gauge 11-48.
He likes to play with the heaviest picks he can find and prefers purple
Dunlop Tortex 1.14 mm picks. Most all of his live guitars are equipped
with Seymour Duncan Alnico II pro humbuckers. His guitar straps are
custom made. He is also well known for his Marshall amps.

Slash formed this power blues touring band in
between the gap of Snakepit's two line ups. The band did blues cover
tracks such as Stone Free, Born Under A Bad Sign, Hootchie Cootchie
Man, Suspicious, covered a few Snakepit songs and the Dylan song "Knockin'
On Heaven's Door" was always popular. They continually toured US
and internationally for two years, but never bought an album out. Slash
is said to have enjoyed the rest from the bigger venues and enjoyed
time with his fans before and after the gigs.
