A Phil Brodie Band
~Tribute Page

PETE
JACKSON
Bassist
with The Hillbilly Cats
Pete
has been Keeping Music Live now for over 40 years. One of his earliest
bands was
"The Lizards" with his brother Roger
Jackson,
Dickie Elroyd and Barry Marshall [later Bitter Suite]. Dickie left because
of girlfriend trouble and was replaced by our Gerry Scanlan [later Bitter
Suite]. The Lizards were probably the most popular non commercial band
around Sheffield in the early 60s. Peter Stringfellow took the band
on and styled them into a "Hollies" type band. In 1965 Pete
and brother Roger left to become rockabillies and joined "The Hillbilly
Cats" with Dave Graham and Brian Terry. Later John Riley[ex-Cruiser],
even later Johnny Pearson. The Hillbilly Cats are part of the Sheffield
music culture, a household name, still playing very regular venues in
the area with Pete the ever-cool bass man, and brother Roger keeping
them in order on drums.

Pete
is even reminded of his band while shopping!!!
